Drug Abuse Resistance Education

Officer Fromlak has been the Dare Officer for the last three years. In January 1995 Officer Fromlak attended an 80 hour₇₄ training program in Elizabethtown Pennsylvania to become a Certified D.A.R.E. Officer₇₅. Since then Officer Fromlak has been instructing the D.A.R.E. program to the students of West View Elementary₇₆ and beginning this year he will also instruct the program at Saint Anthanasius₇₇ school₇₈.

     There is a visitation portion of the D.A.R.E. program. Officer Fromlak visits with kindergarten, second and forth₈₄ grade students for aproximately₈₅ 15 minutes₈₆ four times a year.₈₇Subjects for the kindergarten and scond₈₈ grade students include Being ₈₉safe, Drug ₉₀safety, Learning to say no₉₁ and Feelings. The forth₉₂ grade students will discuss Rules to keep safe₉₃, Drugs may help or harm₉₄, Saying No To Drugs, Feeling Special and Daring to say no₉₅.

     Not only is there an exchange of important information with the students. There₉₆ is also a rapport established with a Police Officer and the students. The students can know that if they are in need of help or₉₇ are in trouble, or just need someone to talk to_{98 99}that the Police Officer is there to help in anyway he or she can.
